About GNC

 Good News Club is an after-school Bible club that meets in the public elementary schools. One day each week during the school year, elementary-aged boys and girls gather with their friends to attend Good News Club (GNC). During that 1 ½ hour period, they sing fun and interesting, visualized songs. They enjoy playing games to help them memorize verses from God's Word, in order to hide God's Word in their heart. Through the missionary time they learn of others around the world who are serving Jesus. The visualized Bible lesson applies God's Word to what is happening in the lives of the children to encourage them how to live. They play review games that help cement the concepts they've learned during that day's club.  An opportunity to receive Jesus as Savior is given at every club.  
 
Because of a 2001 Supreme Court ruling, religious organizations like CEF can now teach children about Jesus right inside the doors of the public schools.  Although Good News Clubs usually meet in the schools, they can also meet in individual homes, community centers or any other meeting places in areas where there are children. We want to make it easy and convenient for them to attend because often times unsaved parents will not bring their children to a church.  As a matter of fact, more than 80% of today's children do not attend a church!

The GNC is run by Christians of varying denominations, who are concerned for boys and girls, and who work together volunteering their time and energy to teach and work in the club. They are trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship to have a club that is exciting and informative so that children will want to keep coming. By the time the first club begins, each worker will be thoroughly prepared to know what to do from the time he/she arrives at the school until the last child is placed in a car with the parent. All workers are trained to be able to counsel the children for salvation. All volunteers are asked to sign the CEF Statement of Faith and agree to abide by the policies of the organization.
